Scholarship 2020

The Clearwater Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recognizes the outstanding achievement of graduates in the Pasco and Pinellas County High Schools. The scholarship program is designed to provide funds to minority students of African American heritage who aspire to attend a college or university. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement and community service.

ELIGIBILITY

An applicant should:

  • Be a graduating female or male high school senior of African American Heritage.

  • Have at least a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a four-point scale or higher, cumulative as of January 2020.

  • Must be actively involved in community service.

  • Student must reside and attend school within the Clearwater Alumnae Chapter’s dedicated service area, which includes:

       -  Pinellas County, north of Ulmerton Road

       -  Pasco County, west of Highway 41

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

   The applicant must complete and submit all of the following:

  • Log on to Pinellas Education Foundation website and complete the online scholarship application for Clearwater Alumnae Chapter before January 15, 2020. Applications received after the date will be ineligible for consideration.

  • Submit all the additional required scholarship documents by January 31, 2020.

SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS

Recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee and announced at the Annual Joseph L. Carwise Minority Banquet in May 2020.  Selection will be based on the applicant’s academic excellence, written essay, and community service involvement.
